“On one of our many visits to the park, my boys and I met Skylar and her pup, Cocoa. We have a lot of neighborhood friends we see regularly, but this pair was new to us. Skylar with her big red bow and white beads, matching burgundy sweatsuit and pink sneakers, coasted around the court on her scooter. Cocoa was the most energetic little pup and completely loyal to Skylar, following her everywhere. Every once in a while Skylar, being an attentive mother, would stop and check in on Cocoa, who of course loved the attention. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to recreate this adorable pair as a painting.”
